Soft and Effective--Great Value

wedge sandals review Dappi Waterproof Vinyl Diaper Pants

Dappi Waterproof Vinyl Diaper Pants

I'm new to cloth diapering and decided to buy these 1.)For my toddler who is currently potty training. 2.) For my one year old who is being converted to cloth diapers. I was able to get a pack of 3 for 2.99 and I ordered three packs. I love them. I heard tons of bad reviews on the Gerber vinyl pants (the newer ones that replaced the old style) and decided not to go with those. I'm so glad I ordered these. My daughter is a heavy wetter but these always hold EVERYTHING. I use this over my toddler's training paints when we go out and they are a little bulky and puffed with air but there is no problem hiding them under her clothes. I also team this up with two indian prefolds, one as a diaper and one as an insert, when my daughter runs out of clean g diapers. I would definitely recommend to anyone either cloth diapering or potty training. My only complaint is that they run a little large, so you may want to order a size down, but you know your baby and their size. My 1.5 yr old and 2.5 yr old have a two pound weight difference but my toddler has a smaller waist so they fit a little larger on her and perfect for my baby. Hope this helps!

  1. I am potty training my 3rd child right now. I couldn't find my old Gerber vinyl pants and had to buy all new ones. Of course I started with the Gerber pants, the new "improved" material, PEVA, is HORRIBLE!!!!!! It is loud and seems even more uncomfortable. I thought I'd give Dappi vinyl a chance; they certainly couldn't be any worse than the Gerbers. I was surprised by how wonderful these are!!! The material is soft, silent and perfectly waterproof. I love them and so does my daughter. She weighs about 22lbs and I got her the medium. They fit very well--no leaks. She wears them over the Gerber training pants (which I love) and these Dappi pants add no bulk. I will buy these from now on!

  2. These plastic pants hold in the extra pee when my son has an accident, they haven't leaked once. I would recommend having them stand in the tub when you remove them, though, to reduce the risk of dumping it on your hands.

  3. I highly recommend these pants as soft, durable, affordable and most importantly, effective diaper covers. I've tried the usual cloth covers in wrap styles and in spite of my best efforts there were way too many leaks to be practical. I had to search long to find the old-fashioned "plastic" pants. These are much softer than what I grew up with. And while I had thought it was foolish to put them in the dryer, I now find myself doing it on a regular basis (medium heat) with great results. I wash them together with my diapers.

Other reviews complain about them falling apart quickly--I have not found that to be so. Sewn vinyl is weaker at the seams and naturally is the first place to tear. This is not a flaw in manufacturing. I find these pants to be of good quality and durability. I am careful not to strain the seams or dry them on high heat and they are lasting well. Even the one that is starting to tear is still effective at keeping clothes and car seat dry! Even if you do feel they wear out too quickly they are sooooo much less expensive than the alternatives, it's well worth replacing a few more frequently.

Sizes run big! My baby has nearly outgrown newborn clothes, but the newborn vinyl pant size is still much too large. I fixed this bringing in the side seams (slightly longer than standard stitch so as not to weaken vinyl too much). These tailored pants are working great.

  4. These pants are the perfect training pants ever! Put over underwear, these hold everything in MY son's been able to "put" in them! =) No leaks at all! It only took him 2 days wearing these to FINALLY potty train, we were using "Pull-Ups" for MONTHS! (Pull-ups are a joke, didn't work for either of my 2 kids, too much like diapers!) These keep all their "stuff" trapped in, making it uncomfortable so they WANT to use the potty. I tried other brands, including Gerber, which were all cheaply made, and the Gerber ones RIPPED the first use! All of them in the pack! These are nice and thick, and the elastic didn't seem itchy at all-my son's pretty sensitive, asks me to cut out all the tags in his shirts...my only regret is buying more the day i got these in the mail, I didn't need more, they worked in TWO DAYS! =) Very happy, if I have more children, I'll definitely go straight to these, NO Pull-Ups!

  5. These are fantastic! I have been using the Gerber pants for the past 2 years and these are FAR better than the Gerber brand. The sizing seems to be accurate for my 5 month old. The material is so soft and the trim around the top and the legs is very nice and seems comforatble. These are also much quieter and less bulky than the Gerber pants. I LOVE these and wish I would have tried these earlier.

  6. I bought these for my daughter to wear over her cloth training pants. They wash great, and keep in a single pee letting her feel wet. I wish I had found these last fall when we started potty training. My daughter is thin and I couldn't find ones her size before this, so when we retired her cloth bum geniuses and moved to pull ups we were back at square one with potty training because she never felt wet. These have been a life saver!

  7. These are a bit baggy in the butt on my 34 lb 3 year old, but the legs and waist hold the wetness in as you are working through potty-training accidents.
