The best book I've ever read!,
A Kid's Review
Once I started reading "Daughter of the Loom", I couldn't put it down. I thought Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller were great, mixing romance and history into the book. I was never one for religion but after reading this book it all made more sense. The book had a great plot making it a real page turner. Lily Armbruster was a great character with strong beliefs and I liked that. I couldn't help going on the internet to see if Peterson and Miller had written any other books together. Once I found out it was part of a series I was thrilled and had to read the second, I'm still waiting for the 3rd one to come out. I hope Peterson and Miller write together again, I'd definatly read their books. The book was outstanding and exiting and in a way educating. I will look forward to reading more books by both authors.

BalasHapusA very good read. Wonderful and inspiring love story. Teaches us that our will is not always God's will and we must be careful to discern what is truly God's will in our lives. We must study God's word to gain the wisdom to see what it truly His will. In this story Lilly and Matthew are able to find their love for one another again. Lilly realizes her plan of revenge is not God's plan but her self centered idea.

BalasHapusThis is a good story about the industrialization of a small town. The people involved are for and against the new mills in town. How they work thru this is very interesting.

BalasHapusI gave it only Four stars because I felt there were too many story lines left unanswered. Perhaps there will be a sequel.
BalasHapusI must admit I have not read a lot of Christian literature, not as much as I would like, so Tracie Peterson's BELLS OF LOWELL were a great introduction to the genre. Each book is beautifully written, and they flow on continously, however, if you were to read them out of sequence, you would not be too terribly behind. I Could NOT put these books down, and in the process of collecting more of this woman's wonderful work. This series is a must buy!
BalasHapusI really enjoyed it, it drew you in quickly and was pretty difficult to predict! The issue of women working in this era and industrialization is a hard one and I thought the author did a good job showing both sides of the issue.

BalasHapusThe Bells of Lowell series is not my favorite by Tracie. I think it is because I do not really like Judith Miller. This book was very slow in the begining but it got really good in the end. I do not think that this should be the first series by Tracie that you read. All of her other books are wonderful and worth reading.
