Great!!

bookshelf Vidal Sassoon BH305 Head Waver

Vidal Sassoon BH305 Head Waver

I was a little hesitant to buy this because I have chin length hair and after doing research, I saw that most people using wavers have much longer hair than mine. Still, I took the plunge because I was sure I could do a quick, easy hairstyle with it.

It took some trial and error to get my technique down, but now I am finding myself reaching for this waver more than any other heat tool I own. My hair is chin length and very fine. I start with air dried hair and spray on a bit of dry shampoo to give it a little more grip. I have found that taking small vertical sections of hair gives me a more beachy, loose wave than holding it horizontally, which tends to look a bit more 1920s flapper. I finish with a small amount of gloss serum.

I'm pleased with my pick and would highly recommend to anyone who is super busy that wants a cute hairstyle done in a flash. I'll use this for many years to come.

  1. I bought this to use on my daughter's hair. She has really long, thick hair. If you pick up the hair sections and use the iron, starting at the top, going down the hair shaft, it really does make large waves! I held the iron closed on each section, for a count of five. We put a little hair spray on it and it stayed for days! I wasn't sure if the weight of her long hair would hold the waves, but they did! It's worth the buy. It took about 40 minutes to do her entire head, so plan ahead...time wise!

  2. This was a great purchase! I also have a triple barrel iron. I got this one because I wanted bigger, beachier waves. This works perfect and is easier to use. I have very thin, super straight hair. Usually, my hair does not hold a curl at all. With this, the waves last all day and night and even look good the next day. It is very quick to do and makes my hair look so much thicker. I did my sister's the hair the other day and now she wants one for Christmas.

  3. This tool is a must have. I have thick, curly, coarse, frizzy hair which can be an absolute pain to style. I find the deep waver to be quick, easy and styles it creates are beautiful :) VERY satisfied.

  4. I bought this because my hair is wavy, but not wavy enough to just let it air dry and wear down. This product fixed my problem. I can now let my hear air dry and quickly style my hair with this and it comes out great! I have VERY thick hair. Like 4 times the amount a normal person has on their head (seriously, my friends and I have compared.) Anyway, the thickness makes it tough to style. This iron gets HOT!!! The first time I used it I had it at the highest heat setting, because that is how I have to use flat irons and curling irons since my hair is so rediculously thick. Well that was a mistake, I looked like Kelly Kapowski! The next time I put it up to 50% and it works PERFECTLY. I get smooth beachy waves that last until I wash my hair (which is about every other day, but the waves would definitely last longer if I didnt wash it for longer). I do not have to use any product in my hair before or after I use this (though I would reccomend a heat protectant if you have fine hair, as this iron gets hotter than lava, I am sure of it). Typically it takes me a long time to curl or straighen my hair, but with this tool I can style it super quickly, like 15 mins to do my whole head! Since it creates beachy casual waves, it does not require prefection. In fact, I think the more imperfection while using this the better. Looks more natural. I dont do all of the layers of my hair becasue it makes my hair too voluminous, but if you have thinner hair it would probably add a lot of body.

Overall, great produst for beachy, relaxed waves. I highly reccomend, and I get compliments from all of my coworkers whenever I use this on my hair!

  5. I have combination hair, meaning it's really wavy in the back (basically looks like it just came out of a braid) and less so in the front. I bought this to try and get my hair evenly wavy all around. This product does not disappoint. The waves are more subtle rather than crimped- think 20s finger curls rather than tight, defined "s" curls- but it was exactly what I was looking for. Heats quickly, the barrels are solid and it doesn't feel cheap even though it's a less expensive waver. I say go for it.

  6. Bought for my wife who normally hates these things because they are hard for the average person to use and get the same results as in a salon. She had this thing figured out by the second time she used it, and I am now a hero.
